Comments: Low water levels that made for very few aquatic challenges. Any rock that was in the water was extra slimey/slippery. Water temps very good in 3/4 wetsuit, with air temps in high 60's to low 70's. Did the round trip approach, which was not worth the extra effort. Would not repeat, unless doing the shuttle route.

Comment: The tail end of snowmelt produced exciting swiftwater challenges in these brief narrows. Descending this canyon without swiftwater experience at this time of year is not recommended.
R1: the falls can be avoided by hooking a notch in the rock as a deviation. Set the rope length and swim the pool after jumping over the flow DCL. R2: the crux. If a bolted deviation were installed, the chute could be avoided. However, by using the anchor tree, at least the first person needs to manage the final pothole and short pour off into the pool below. R3: rappeling next to the flow with the existing anchor tree DCR completes the drop at the edge of the pool. Higher flow conditions make the next two DCs more interesting, but doable. All this said, the combined approach and whichever way the return is done is long compared to the short technical section resulting in a poor pay-to-play for this adventure.
