Comments: Ran the full canyon from the tributary drop in (haven't run the top half in a while as I prefer the shortened version). Introduced a friend to this canyon so we took out time and ran the whole thing. I placed a bolt at R2 DCL so now the human anchor is no longer required. It is a Bonier PinGo hanger from HowNOT2 and designed to rappel directly from the hanger so it does not require a quick link. All other anchors in the canyon are good. The webbing at R4 for the inflow rappel is starting to show its age but still good.

I added an 8mm Petzl Pulse hole at R5 DCR forward of the anchor so there is some protection for someone (observer/anchor manager) to be able to observe the drop, its about waist high on the rock wall forward of the anchor.

The big rap at Stafford Falls is fun even in low flow with the new anchors and of course the pull is a dream now compared to the old tree anchor.

We had thin wetsuits but flow is low enough and weather warm enough we were hot most of the time and kept laying in the pools to cool off.

Comment: Fantastic fun day in Stafford with 4 Mazamas students. Creek was not particularly slippery. We were fortunate to get great sunny weather. The students loved the Stafford falls rebelay.

Comment: Stafford was slippery as always, but even more so than normal! The right bolt on the R9 hanging anchor continues to be a concern with expanding cracks. It was stable today after I yanked on it, but I am concerned about what would happen if extra force needed to be put on it (like a haul system). All other anchors are in good shape. Be careful of dipper nests in and around the falls!

Comment: Used the "Royal Shuttle" entry to R4 and took our time with some show and tell and some teaching. All anchors in a good shape. R9A does not look as if it'scracking more or worrying. Multiple dipper nests, R6. in the big alcove DCR, also suspected in R5. Very slippery conditions.

Comment: Eventful day in Staff. The flow was higher than expected and reported from the previous week; very similar to flow observed in mid-April. Ran full Staff starting at R1. It was a very cold rainy day, and one of the beginners began to suffer from hypothermia. 3 of us exited the canyon between R6 and R7 by climbing the steep mossy wall DCR. We were surprised to find webbing and quicklinks on trees at the top of the climb. The remainder of the team continued down creek and we reunited at the cars.

Comment: Took the non-bushwhack route in to run R4 - R10. Creek is exceedingly slippery at present. Flow is at fun level. Another bolt at R9b might make station management a little easier.

Comment: Stafford was beautiful today with good flow and lots of sun! The DCR bolt on the DCR anchor for the final wrap of Tin Falls got smashed over during the winter and is no longer functional. We removed the hanger and nut and pounded the bolt in as much as we could. Other than that, anchors are in good shape. The creek is slippery as heck per usual!

Comment: Super fun day - ran full Staff. Team of 3 with 1 noob (first canyon). Flow was moderate-high, water temp very comfortable. R10 bolts DCR webbing was damaged - we removed it. R10 DCR - bolt spins, lifts, but not enough to remove, and is clearly bent.

Comment: It was a nice winter day in Stafford, running R4-R10. The bushwhack for this shorter entrance is pretty overgrown. Water flow was a little more than moderate but quite manageable, especially if you could stay out of the direct flow. Crossing the Devil's Fork of Wilson River was no problem.

Comment: Low flow abounds, but still a little splashy on the bigger rappels. New anchors are great, especially the re-belay on Stafford Falls. Great line right in the water!

Comment: There's some cracking in the rock around one of the new bolts at the rebelay station at R9. Something to keep an eye on.

Comment: Mission with Dusty Gold to update the anchors on the big pitch. Previously, the tree anchor DCL was in a bad position: no visibility down the pitch, and no way to have eyes on rappellers if there was a problem. Tree anchor is now retired. Beta has been updated.
