Comments: First descent trip, low flow. Beautiful canyon which would be in its full splendor early season. Approach on forest roads with blackberries along the way leads you to the top section on the canyon. It begins with tight chutes that bend in an S curve leading to the first of a series of larger more open rappels. The centerpiece being a ~230 foot free hanging rappel we bolted in the flow. We used a 100m rope which will get you down the free hanging section and also down the ramp to a DCR tree anchor. An 80 meter rope will likely get you down this large rap but please bring a 100m until someone confirms this. Very beautiful. Minimal creek walking, majority of the canyon is back to back 16 raps until the car.

Comment: Superb day!
1h50m hike along the forest road. Great views and a relaxed gradient made the time fly. All the anchors survived the winter storms. Added some bolts to break up the larger raps, will update the beta shortly. 5hrs of back to back fun in the canyon. We droned the falls before setting off, and the flow looked lower than our scouting trip in June 2024. However in canyon it was still fun. All the features were bigger than I expected. On the main falls our ropes got twisted during the pull and made us work to retrieve them. The canyon still needs some anchor improvements to break up a few of the larger multi-stage raps. We carried a 100m and 70m, but I don't think we did any pitch over 60m in length. | |||||||
