Comments: Added 4-5 fun raps to the short run. They are spread out but very doable and worth it. Plenty of petrified wood in the creek to keep you occupied. I almost get the feeling that the last rap would be a fun jumper but I’ll leave that to cooler peeps. Is it better than Lewis, no. But it’s better than Pin, Boulder, and Curly Creek. Road is terrible from 88 and the 8851 will soon slide down into oblivion so your sedan won’t make it.

Comment: First time back at Tillicum in a few years -- finishing off the lower part of the creek. All the rappels are stellar, but the creek walking between them will deter some visitors. Despite dire reports, the roads to Tillicum are not that bad. South approach has one bad section of subsidence (< 10ft long). North route has a lot of potholes; take it slow. HC vehicles recommended; 2WD could make it with care. For folks setting up a shuttle: lower road is a bit brushy; larger vehicles should expect some pinstriping. HC for sure. Major highlight was a martin swimming in the creek. Very cool to encounter some charismatic mega-fauna. Mushrooms are out in force - including one amazing display of Chicken-in-the-Woods. Replaced R4 anchor -- the roots are becoming seriously rotten and the anchor should probably be moved to a better location.

Comment: Upper section is quick and easy, can be combined with LGC nearby...but due to the length of creek walking, and a long hike back to the original parking area this whole run will take most of the day. A smart person would go in a group and have a shuttle, the roads are kinda crappy but most of it can be avoided if you come in through the trout lake area and not through Carson!!! You'll literally pass by the parking area for LGC On the way out there. R1 has black webbing and link to rappel from, I didn't put it there but I used it as it seemed to be In good condition. R2 same deal from the log. I will say R4 webbing had 2 slings wrapped around a huge root ball, one of the straps has a good lil gash in it while the 2nd seems new and in great condition....replacing the torn one could be a good idea. The rest of the canyon was pretty straight forward to navigate and the exit while long is pretty easy to follow. R1, R4, and R6 are the highlights of this run and are quite easy on the eyes. R6 has an incredibly deep pool under it, I hear its been jumped before at 85 ft...I think it's also possible to rap down to about the 60ft or 55ft mark on a very small ledge/rock and jump from here if like me 85ft is too much.

Anyone interested in seeing what this canyon looks like before heading out I've saved my YouTube vid to the main page...if the waterfalls were closer together and not so spread out I'd say this would be one of the top runs in WA.

Comment: Road to the TH is terrible. The creek itself is a fun jaunt at moderate flow, almost worth the drive. We were clearly the first through this season, as the rigging we found was stiff and brittle. We re-rigged both anchors with fresh webbing and better placement.

Comment: Possible first descent? We dropped in at the bridge and made our way down to Little Niagara. Definitely a lot of water even in mid-August. Pullcord proved too short for retrievable anchor, so we had to go back to collect it later. Exit is a bit downstream of Tillicum Falls up a short / steep hillside until you hit the trail. Relatively easy / quick exit.
