Comments: This is a charming little adventure. It is an excellent canyon to practice downclimbing, stemming, bridging, etc. We downclimbed everything except the first rappel. The second rap had shin-deep pool at the bottom, and our group avoided it without the use of rope; however, others might not be able to. The third rap is a very tricky downclimb. Pretty sure it could be skipped DCR. There was no anchor here.
The parking lot is currently under construction, so you have to park at the next turnout. This adds a little bit of extra walking.

Comment: Main route wasn’t really fun and a lot of effort for a single rappel; but fun downclimbing and a somewhat heady stem add to the fun. If one wanted to just do a shortcut to r2 then it’s totally doable. Not sure where r3 was as the area is heavily used and we ended up meat anchoring someone down then lapar climbed dcr. All anchors in great condition.

Comment: big bang for the buck - especially for a group of newbies. R2 is totally optional; even a person with a sprained ankle downclimbed. the pool was still neck deep on me (5' 6") where you drop into it from the rappel, and we all still had to swim the last 20 feet. no rain the previous 5 days.

Comment: water depth where the final rappel drops you was up to my 6'3" friend's chest and neither he nor i could touch for the final 20 feet. this is much different than Las Vegas Slots guidebooks suggests and is worth noting. it had rained a couple days before, but not much.

Comment: Really more of a scramble in Red Rocks than a canyon, but still a fun short option.

Comment: Surprisingly enjoyable little canyon, with a little bit of everything: pretty slots, stemming practice, downclimbs, and lovely scenery. The short descent is well worth the pleasant scramble to the canyon head (we took the eastern alternate approach). The R1 anchor was in good condition. R2 was interesting: the location of the chockstone right against the canyon wall made ghosting with a toggle risky, so we decided to rig it with webbing. R3 had a sketchy anchor off a small sandstone arch, which we removed, preferring the bolt up top RDC instead.

Comment: Lots of fun downclimbing and stemming. Went up route to right up canyon from canyon. Lots of practice climbing and having fun.

Comment: A surprisingly charming and enjoyable canyon. The alternate approach is a fun scramble and definitely the way to go per my two teammates who had done it both ways. We enjoyed the stemming and downclimbing - it's a good place to practice as you can adjust for each person's tolerance for spiciness. :-) Canyon is bone dry right now despite the recent rains.

Comment: I'm not convinced this is a canyon. There are a couple cool slot sections though and the rock is beautiful. The shorter approach is fun. Good after-work adventure. Webbing was fresh at all rappels. Apparently the attempt to keep the first and last raps webbing free have failed. The anchor at the penultimate was webbing wedged onto a pinch point (!?) So we fixed it. It's a totally downclimbable drop though.

Comment: Thigh-deep water at the base of R2, avoidable with a very dynamic move for those physically capable. Shallow water also between R2 and R3, but can be avoided with moderate stemming. The approach route was difficult for us to follow, but fortunately there are many possible ways to reach the start of the canyon. Red Rocks was a zoo and we encountered many people in the parts of the canyon in between the features.
