Comments: My partner and I are struggling to match the beta written to what we saw in the canyon...

We easily bypassed the first optional rap. Then did a couple of slightly more difficult and exposed bypasses/downclimbs of short drops (note that this can impact moss etc). Not recommended for the average person, or for the environmental impact.

We did a total of THREE rappels. Note that there are/were NO anchors rigged in the canyon- we, and presumably the previous descender(s), ghosted the canyon. Again, not recommended for the average person. At Trinity Falls there was a wedged vertical log that we used to rappel. Without this, finding a rock pinch would be necessary OR combining it with the previous rappel (using a tree right, the end of "Pinball Alley"?) making for about 110' total distance and FOUR drops. Trinity Falls itself is about 60-70'. The small pool after the second drop of Trinity Falls had a small recirc, but it was no problem at the water levels we experienced. (Note that this was late summer and after an extended dry spell.)

Final note: I saw NO obvious slides or jumps. People that are making statements like this are encouraging injuries. IF even attempted, it would require very accurate jumps combined with shallow entry technique. But take my word for it, whatever "fun" you'd get from it isn't worth the risk.

Oh, and the previous entry has/had his date wrong. Two days in the future from our descent? So be aware as far as flows.

Overall, better than I expected. Moderately scenic falls. But very short and very isolated for most people.

Comment: Ran this years run of trinity. It was roaring. Not sure why? We had a bad snow year in Montana, but despite that, I have never seen Trinity run this high and I have done the canyon about 6 times now. The lower section of this canyon (Trinity Falls) was impassable and the undercut recirculating hydraulic at the end of the canyon was more of a vapor than a pool. We left some new webbing in the upper section of the canyon. The lower section has still been ghosted.

Comment: Upper trinity was a dream, lots of fun pools, small raps and slides. Lower trinity was impassable due to high water flow. We ended up rapping out of the watercourse due to the overpowering boils. If you go. Do not expect trinity falls to be passable. Everything else was fun.
