Comments: We setup the shuttle at Dante's peak. While downhill is always preferred, prepare for a beating on your knees and thighs with the 2000 ft elevation loss (approach). All anchors were in good condition and we did not rebuild any. The slots and different colored rocks were pretty but I could have done without the walks inbetween the raps. All 3 of us had rope and leapfrogging made the descent go quickly.

Comment: Weather was surprisingly warm, I'd say in the high 50s at the beginning of the day ~6am at Dante's Point. Approach was fine except the final ridge descent, which was mostly loose skree, which was a bit rough and longer than I expected. It looks shorter on the gpx, but I'm getting used to Onx for navigating and I don't think there's a scale on there. The descent probably took 30-40 min? and highly advise bring poles. It saved me about 4 times and I fell a couple more times. I've never thought that poles were that useful, but for this one it was a lifesaver. We probably could've been closer to 10 hr, but we ran into another group of 11 from the north Typhon Fork around R18 or so, so there were 2-3 ropes at different stations and I LAMARed the last rap, so I waited for everyone else to get through. Beautiful day! Not too warm, not too hot. We leapfrogged the whole day and everyone brought 200' ropes, so we were never without a rope. I'm not sure we really needed that many ropes, but it was really nice to meat anchor people down while others worked on the anchor. The November 2025 storms likely washed away any of the cairn anchors before, but rocks were available without having to farm above. All the anchors were rebuilt.

Comment: It was chilly at Dante's View, but we quickly warmed up hiking to the descent ridge. "Hiking" down the descent ridge is hard on old joints! Trekking poles would be useful. It took us about 3 hours to get to rappel 1. After which the canyon itself is straightforward with many rappels and downclimbs. Many of the anchors needed webbing replacement, some were OK.

Comment: Great day in the canyon, with beautiful metamorphic rock and even a rappel through a small arch! Many cairn anchors with a few hand placed chocks and fiddle stick rappels in there. Most webbing was in good condition. We were a little surprised that we did a total of 25 rappels when the original ropewiki beta said 17 so I updated the page.

Comment: Some of the (many) downclimbs had anchors constructed at the top, so if you're using Bluugnome's beta your count will be off. Replaced webbing and rebuilt most of the anchors. We left a few that are OK but could use some cleanup.
