Comments: Serious rockfall potential on first 4 raps. We fiddled all the raps. R2 we threw down a 100ft rope and it was flapping in the breeze, not long enough. We couldn’t tell how far off the ground it was so we just opted for a longer rope. If you extend the anchor webbing 10 feet to the very edge a 100’ rope may reach. R4 took all of our 300’ rope, less about 4 feet for the stone knot around the tree. R5 we downclimbed the three short drops, 20’, 8’ and 15’, all fairly easy. R8 we did the walk around on the right, slightly exposed slipping on the bed of leaves is probably the biggest risk. The scramble down to the trail was a bit brushy. Trail hike out was fast. Nothing really scenic going on here, just a long rock and sand filled chasm. Can’t recommend it over all the other options nearby.

Comment: First known descent. Lots of very loose rock on rappels 1-4. Amazing crack. Very rare to get a 280' narrow drop. Excellent adventure for at least moderate level canyoneers.
