Comments: Really beautiful canyon with impressive slot sections. This run gets a lot of sun which makes the water temp pleasant at lower flows. Some anchor work was needed. Definitely a must run if you canyon in the PNW.

Just like a lot of other canyons this year, the water was surprisingly not that cold, especially for an 'alpine' canyon.

Opted for a single day push. 4am start. 3hrs to Gothic Basin. 1hr taking photos and dropping down to the creek. 6hrs in canyon. 3.5h for the exit. We opted to continue down the entirety of Weeden Creek, crossing the Sauk River and picking up the Monte Cristo trail. The reviews from those in the team who'd done the Gargoyles exit was that this alternative exit was a great decision.
