Comments: Updated the main page to sync the original 2019 beta and 2023 comment and added a new exit path, which does not require a shuttle using the Morning Star climber exit. With enough daylight consider adding a descent of Morning Star to the day.

Once Wicked really gets going starting at R2, it's a great canyon, but the exit options are either really long or long and steep.

Comment: Parking location GPS more accurate at 39.0646,-108.75637. Team of 3, 7 rappels but the heights in beta description differed from what we found. R1 65', R2 and 3 in sequence, 30' and 75'. R4 50' from tree DCR. R5 120' from tree DCL, replaced with new black webbing. Note there is webbing on a tree about 30' lower DCR, but we chose to do this rappel as 120' without the 2-stage, and had no issues with the rope pull. R6 75', replaced bottom portion of handline webbing and added a new section of webbing, extending it to the edge of rappel for a clean pull. However, this resulted in an awkward start in the constriction where the rappel begins. You might be able to downclimb this section and then set an anchor elsewhere. R7, 60' from a half dead, but large tree DCR. Existing red webbing did not look safe, but we did not replace it because we didn't want to rappel into a pool of mud. The first four rappels were executed with a fiddlestick. At the end of the rappel sequence, the canyon requires some bushwhacking and there is some avoidable poison ivy. But the overgrowth does not last long. We chose to stay in the black granite canyon section for a mile or so, then exited to the D3 trail on the right for a faster return. The return hike is probably 5 miles, so be aware that you must pay to play this canyon on the back end. The scenery is beautiful, so it's a nice hike. Some small pools of water and mud due to recent rain. Also, you can access the parking at the top with an AWD vehicle such as a Subaru.
