Introduction[edit]

A short, pretty canyon located in the Big Tujunga region of Angeles NF, off the Sunyata Fork of Vogel Canyon.

Approach[edit]

Park your car at the Condor Peak Trailhead along Big Tujunga Road: 34.2875., -118.2250. You will be hiking the trail for about an hour until you reach the drop-in for Fusier (Left Fork)/Sunyata Fork of Vogel. Consult the beta for additional information. Just past the drop-in for the above routes you will begin hiking off-trail at: 34.29811, -118.21303 Continue to the north to the ridgeline here: 34.3002, -118.2125 Stay on this ridgeline N/NE until near the top at: 34.30158, -118.21101 Here you will traverse around the head of the canyon to the west ridgeline to drop-in.

Descent[edit]

After the traverse, drop-in to the canyon anywhere prior to the first rappel, located at 34.30160, -118.21257 The canyon in the upper reaches is brush free and the down-climbing is on bedrock for the most part.

R3--25'

R4--90-110' This is possible to do as a 110' rap, but rope retrieval may be an issue. You can rap the top 20' to a large bench and re-belay there off several good locations.

After R5 there is a short but unpleasant bushwhack to reach the Sunyata Fork. Continuing down this fork you will encounter several more rappels before Big TJ Road, all 50' or shorter.

Exit[edit]

When you reach Big TJ road walk a short distance to the east to your vehicle.
