Comments: Time is car-to-car and includes establishing anchors, clearing brush, and multiple approach attempts before I got it dialed in. Most groups moving efficiently will likely be able to run this canyon in a few hours. Still some loose rock on both the approach and descent, use caution. Great views along the approach, and a pop of fall color throughout the canyon and in the exit drainage. I combined R4 and R5 as a single rappel since I had the extra rope but most will want to run this route with just a 100’.

Comment: A good, worthwhile canyon.
Views and scenery were fantastic. Approach was pretty good but loose in some areas. Brush was minimal and the track was spot on. Approaching R1 there is a slabby shelf with mild exposure. R1: drops directly off side of shelf via a large tree. small cactus on ledge and slight overhang on start make this a challenging dismount for some. This rappel was good and bypasses the burshy stuff at the head of the canyon. Anchor placement could be adjusted to make this dismount a bit more straightforward. The sequence of small overhung rappels after r1 make this canyon worth checking out. Over time I see this route evolving to perhaps one of the best in the Red Rock/ Sedona region for its grade. Beautiful Fall colors and scenery. Thanks for all the hard work putting this route together, and making it safe and enjoyable for others.
