Comments: Time reflects car to car from parking lot before Schnebly dirt road turns bad, 1.5 mi hike in with combo with Temple and Arrowhead.
Approach is awesome, beautiful sweeping views of Sedona and a fairly engaging slickrock entrance (once you're past the loose soil that is annoying and tiring). Descent is unremarkable and uninteresting. If you had the temple canyon descent combined with the arrowhead approach (not possible, just if the mountain was built different :) it would be a stellar route. As is, drainage felt reminiscent of New Day Canyon in Sedona.
R1 is pretty atrocious as an entrance, really just a hanging tree off the slabbed rim of the approach. Definitely need a PAS and maybe comfort lowering yourself into free space to weight the system as you transition into the free space/air. Please note, if this is not your desire, and it probably won't be, You have two options. a) fiddle a tree further back on the ledge, and be careful with the path of the rope pull (~120') to perform a more normal and warm feeling rappel. b)you can continue on past R1, routefind your way into the drainage higher up and drop in as normal. It looked very brushy though, and we felt it quicker to drop off the rim.

Comment: A good, worthwhile canyon.
Views and scenery were fantastic. Approach was pretty good but loose in some areas. Brush was minimal and the track was spot on. Approaching R1 there is a slabby shelf with mild exposure. R1: drops directly off side of shelf via a large tree. small cactus on ledge and slight overhang on start make this a challenging dismount for some. This rappel was good and bypasses the burshy stuff at the head of the canyon. Anchor placement could be adjusted to make this dismount a bit more straightforward. The sequence of small overhung rappels after r1 make this canyon worth checking out. Over time I see this route evolving to perhaps one of the best in the Red Rock/ Sedona region for its grade. Beautiful Fall colors and scenery. Thanks for all the hard work putting this route together, and making it safe and enjoyable for others.

Comment: Time is car-to-car and includes establishing anchors, clearing brush, and multiple approach attempts before I got it dialed in. Most groups moving efficiently will likely be able to run this canyon in a few hours. Still some loose rock on both the approach and descent, use caution. Great views along the approach, and a pop of fall color throughout the canyon and in the exit drainage. I combined R4 and R5 as a single rappel since I had the extra rope but most will want to run this route with just a 100’.
