Comments: High flow. Made an effort to avoid the watercourse on the first two rappels. We didn't locate the R1 anchor and instead used a tree on canyon right.

Toboggan was completely out of play. We exited above R3 after a bit of deliberation, since it would have been difficult if not impossible to avoid the heavy flow with the established canyon left anchor and it was getting late in the day. I also followed a KML track through the woods as it appeared more direct, but wished I had simply followed the hiking trail out which parallels the creek and avoids inflicting damage to all the undergrowth.

Comment: R3 seemed doable due to broad watercourse but it spooked my partner so we skipped it. Returned to vehicle via the established hiking trail north of the watercourse.

Comment: Ran this after Mystic/Lake Fork with the crew I met there. The rappels themselves are not exceptional and a few log jams detract from the creeking, but with a panoramic view of the Telluride basin this canyon in fall foliage is a gem not to be missed!

    Comment: [Moved from main page]

Aug 31 2020: 2 person trip, 3.5 hours total. We parked at the passenger vehicle parking lot with no car shuttle and hiked up the marked trail until the bottom of the upper bridal veil falls. We then traveled back down the path ~5 minutes until we found an easy place to cut back to the watercourse and change into wetsuits. We made our way around the tree debris down the creek, and we added a fun 35ft optional rappel 0 anchored from a tree on dcr. We noticed that the two-log bridge that was pictured and listed as the start of the descent was washed out. The waterflow was higher than in the original beta (see photo of rap 3), but it was safe.
