Comments: Drive from Stovepipe, 2 weeks ago it was smooth, dry & dusty. Rain on Friday/Sat night made the first 1 mile very wet & deep grooves in the sand have started from Sunday/Monday drivers. Be prepared to deal with the grooves & clearance in case repairs take a while to fix. Trucks with reasonable clearance seem to be able to drive through.

Comment: We rock-farmed to build up the cairn for the 200ft rappel. It's nice & solid now.

Comment: Approach took us about 3 hours, but we weren't in any hurry. The anchor at R2 was gone, so we had to build a new one. We had to farm rocks from above since there wasn't anything there. Other than that, all anchors were in good shape.

Comment: The approach took under 2 hours with some iffy looking clouds rolling in, making for amazing photos, but would not have been good if it started raining. Fortunately, no rain came. At the first rappel, there was no visible anchor, so we made a new one to get down to where there clearly was one. Some of the anchors needed help, one was a poorly constructed dead-man which we rebuilt. The limestone offers interesting anchors options that are solid, unlike much of the DV chossy rock. There were a few puddles, and only one that required some friction climbing to avoid going in the water.

Comment: Replaced a couple anchors. Rainy morning, canyon was in the clouds, but the water didn't last very long once it hit the ground. Slippery when wet!

Comment: Good day. Note that the approach and return to car is much easier walking if you stay in the main washes; we walked the hard way on the approach only to see this from half-way up the hill. The rocky decent between the two peaks was a pain. Scrambling down to first rappel felt a bit exposed; but safe with smart route finding. This first cairn anchor is on the smaller side imho -- one may consider farming more rocks from higher up. Webbing in good shape. We did this as 7 rappels, including an optional knot-chock rap instead of down-climbing the chimney; adding a rap link. Look out for stingbush aka velcro plant!! That crap got all over us and our ropes.

Nice variety in canyon, fun to go through holes.

Comment: Fun day, replaced all webbing except some dark green webbing on a bush on a downclimb mid way through.

Anchor on 200' rappel in good shape, but if it washes out, there could be difficulty obtaining replacement rocks locally.

Comment: very fun Canyon & sequences in the middle of the the canyon, rebuilt/checked every anchor, very cool weather with clouds, some damp spots from Fri/Sun rain, it rained after we got back to Stovepipe, lots of canyon cactus Velcro. Saw a group behind us, advanced anchor skills needed as many anchors needed to be fixed & added some for sketchy down climbs, lots of meat anchors with partner assist , looking forward to doing this again

Comment: Several of the down climbs we set up as rappels, however, once down looking back at them it is possible to safely and carefully down climb them with an assist. The webbing in most places appeared to be in good shape from last year.
