Comment: Time for whole canyon car to car. Very fun water levels. Fun big jumps and slides. Good shallowing jump technique and practiced jump communication a must.

Used transport provided by the campground at the midpoint.

Comment: After a quick shuttle ride, we descended into the canyon, which started with an incredible slide measuring over 30 feet! This slide was intimidating as it was the largest one I had ever attempted, and it provided an exhilarating start to our adventure in Cañon del Infiernillo. The canyon itself was breathtaking, featuring spectacular waterfalls, unique rock formations, and numerous jumps. It truly deserves a five-star rating and is among the best canyons I’ve had the pleasure of exploring. The existing anchors were in good condition, and we had no issues descending the canyon. The water is cold, and I was glad to have worn my 5/4 wetsuit.

Comment: We did the full route. 5.5 hours total. Water VERY cold. I would never do this canyon with less than 5mm full body wetsuit!

One guided group in canyon. All anchors excellent. Amazing canyon. Some concrete bags and small construction materials at the start of the upper canyon. who knows what they are building here. Flow was very low. Definitely flowing, but we heard flow is normally much higher. No water hazards or currents at our flow, or, I imagine, until the flow is significantly higher. Easily one of the best canyons in Mexico and North America. Be sure to slide the slide!

Comment: This was my favorite of the three canyons we did in this area (also did La Barranca and Agua Fria). Beautiful blue water, with a few fun jumps and slides. I would repeat it if I were in the area again. We did the full route. Approach took 1.5 hours, upper canyon took 1.5 hours, and lower canyon took 3 hours. Water in the upper section is significantly colder than in the lower section. The forecast high was in the 70s, and I was quite cold in the upper canyon with 4/3 wetsuit and rain jacket, but comfortable in the lower canyon in the same gear. Flow was negligible due to it being the dry season and two previous years of drought.

Comment: Wonderful canyon, gorgeous water and many fun jumps. There were 3 other groups of local (Mexican) canyoneers in the canyon with us this day, mostly from Mexico City. It was Feb and we had had very cold weather in Pinal de Amoles (highs of 45F), but this day the high was around 60F and it was a very welcome respite from the cold. We were surprised to find the riverbed dry for the first half mile, so I've updated the beta description to make it more clear that a side-stream is what supplies water, and is where you suit up. I definitely recommend doing the full route over just the lower commercial part -- it doesn't add much more time and is well worth it.

Comment: Time is for the lower part (commercial route). This route is accessed from Sauz de Guadalupe and gets heavy traffic. We came back the next day and did just the upper route. This took us 1.5 hours on the entrance hike, 2+ hours in canyon and 20 mins to hike back up to invernadores. The lower part was better but the upper part is plenty beautiful and definitely worth doing. Would recommend doing the full route all in one day (would require a pretty early start unless you spent the night close to the canyon). This is truly a spectacular canyon with amazing mineral formations and tons of structure to explore. Make sure you're somewhere in the middle of it at midday so you get to see the glowing emerald and aquamarine pools in all their glory! Good luck figuring out the shuttle puzzle. Probably easiest to either drive to invernaderos and ask them to do all the shuttle stuff for you or to hire a taxi in Ahuacatlán.

Comment: 5h for the full descent, without shuttle.

We did it in two days for wikirope wasn’t much accurate When we did it. My friend jacob put a better description. Infiernillo is divided in two parts : Upper part is very beautiful, especially with noon sunshine water is seethrough. Lower part is even greater with bigger see through pools, One great slide, much more swimming and little and big jumps! Can easily be done in one day if you have decided your logisitic before (that we didn’t). The best way is to Park at the « invernadero » (as in the village). From there they can give You an hour drive up the canyon and go and pick you up down the canyon (or ask to leave your car down the canyon before being droped at the top is the best option).

Comment: After booking a hotel in Ahuacatlán de Guadalupe we were drop off at the entrance of the canyon in Sauz de Guadalupe. The canyon was spectacular, amazing jumps and rappels and even bats towards the end of the canyon before it got dark. We woke the road back and stop the get snacks and it proved to offer accommodation too, it was tenting but we have already booked a hotel in the town. Called a taxi but the price was ludicrous, so, we woke the road in the dark and managed to scored a ride up the hill and after some kilometers we hitchhiked right to the door of the hotel where we happily sunk into the soft linen.
