Comments: We were surprised by a pool of dirty, cold, chest deep water in the first section of narrows, followed by a waist deep pool. We descended this section with minimal clothing then put our dry stuff on in the sun after. Lower section was not wet, just very muddy. This approach worked well, as a very brief wet section would have been a lot to carry wetsuits for.

Just don't expect a dry experience anytime soon.

Comment: A very nice, short, seldom explored route, with very pretty features, best combined with Mighty Mouse. Time stated is for both canyons.

Driving the road past the main parking up to the wilderness boundary is definitely the way to go. High clearance 2wd fine. There is a side path to on the right to get around the impassable washout in the beginning. Would be tight for a fullsize however…

The upclimb chute on approach looks daunting but is grippy and very doable. Approach took us 1hr 15min.

After downclimbing the first small drop off, we built a cairn anchor for R1 and toggled it. The chute and flutes in this canyon are really cool very nice features in such a short canyon! Tad bit of water, ankle to calf deep. Canyon took us 1.5 hrs.

We then continued on down to Mighty Mouse…

Comment: Fall colors were out in force. We skipped the first rappel, and ghosted the second. We totally rebuilt a deadman anchor towards the end of the canyon. We got a very late start and it was pretty chilly in the narrows water and at Chamberlain's Ranch for our exit while we waited for the shuttle retrieves.

Comment: great canyon for a half day trip or for a "rest" day canyon for a week long canyoneering trip.
