Comments: Technical obstacles in the canyon were fun and straightforward, but lengthy creek-walking sections and the exit hike made for a long and grueling day. Flow was present but minimal, and rarely affected any of the rappels. Plenty of deep pools and swimming. Being more conservative regarding jumps and downclimbs, our team did all 12 rappels. We didn’t encounter any situations we found particularly risky or dangerous. We used the “Option 1” exit hike; there was significant bushwacking and uphill hiking involved, but we generally found our way with the help of GPS. Make sure you budget plenty of time and energy for the exit hike. We feel there are better canyons in the area in terms of pay-to-play ratio and you won't miss much by skipping this one.

Comment: Okay day. Flow is probably too low to be particularly worth doing this season, it was mostly a long creekwalk. There were only three obstacles that all members of our group passed by rappelling. The low flow makes downclimbs extra-easy. We tried to do the "option 2" shuttle and found that the one-way drive took us more like 80 minutes with a passenger car, and the gate to the forest road off of Ross Crossing Rd was closed and locked. We chose to go back and set the option 1 shuttle, rather than walk the extra ~1.5 miles and 1k ft of elevation. Even if the forest road is open I wouldn't recommend trying this option, the option 1 exit isn't too bad and the option 2 drive is very long.

Comment: Andrew: Clear evidence of at least three prior descents based off webbing left behind. Really fun day! JB: I found a pothole requiring an underwater swim thru an arch to exit! Yikes! ... but I would do again (off rope)!
Will be adding pics and more beta and a better map throughout the week
