Comments: Ran most of the canyon besides the last traverse and narrows. We were welcomed by 4 new logs which we promptly removed. Al we replaced two smaller stainless links with larger ones. We jumped or slid everything minus S6. Conditions were high and there wasn’t much to worry about with folks who have done the canyon more than 10x total. If you go after us please be ready to either tighten bolts or replace with a drill. We’ve never had to yank 4+ logs out on the season opener so who knows what happened downstream this past winter.

Comment: Great day running Hager for the first time. We were in 3/4mm suits and were feeling the cold despite it being a fairly warm day.

Comment: We had a great time playing in the Hager water park. All the slides/jumps were in. The dance floor was so fun we climbed back up it to do it again since it wasn't slippery at all.

Comment: Amazing day in Hager after some rain charged the creek up a little bit. Nothing scary, probably just more fun! All the slides and jumps are in good shape. Several of us slid the whole Dance Floor! Hopefully the beta for that will get updated soon.

Comment: Time reflects upper, middle, and lower. First time through the canyon - spent a fair amount of time taking photos, depth checking pools, etc...beautiful canyon! Very cold water. We all had 5+ mm setups and were still a bit chilled at times (we also descended the canyon in the evening and air temps today were lower than average for this time of year).

Comment: This was the 2nd half of a Davis-Hager run. All slides/jumps in the beta are good. We did temporarily stick our rope on the log at R2 but recovered it. If not pulled quickly as the rope exits from the quicklink, the rope will drop into the log and get stuck. We recovered the cut rope of another teams at that same spot so take care on the pull. At R12, the 2nd deviation accessorry cord is starting to show wear. We didn't have any accessorry cord on us so the next team to come through should examine and consider replacing this. All other anchors are in good condition.

Comment: Great day to have swift water training! Thanks to Sam and the crew! The only thing I have to report is the water is really really cold even on a 95 deg day!

Comment: Surprisingly moderate conditions in most of the canyon for this early in the season. Lower section running closer to mod-high.

Comment: Fun day! We took out after the triple pools and skipped the lower section - mostly out of laziness (conditions would have been fine)

No new wood (or other hazards) to speak of compared to last year

Comment: Slides and jumps are all clean, anchors in good shape. High flow some slides will “washing machine” you before spitting you out! Removed several logs from the upper section that could have been problematic, large one moved into pool with others above R2. Exited after 3 slides due to time but checked redirects which are present.

Comment: There is some new (relocated) wood in play in Hager. Scout ALL jumps and slides before committing, especially when on your first seasonal descent. Flow was high but manageable when not wearing packs and having personal flotation. Our group had wetsuits and dry suits with PFDs and vests.

Having a swiftwater mindset of rope management, flotation and downstream safety made the day much less stressful. 😎

Comment: Water gauged Hager today. It was running fast but likely doable for an advanced team who had done it before. We did not descend the canyon but we did walk the rim and pull a sizable log out that would have likely become a strainer later in the season.

Comment: A cold spell plus the driest January in 40 years has Hager running with surprisingly (and delightfully!) reasonable flow. Beautiful, fluffy snow blanketed the trees, logs and banks but we found only a little ice in the canyon. It was VERY cold! This would not be a good choice for anyone newer to winter canyoning. All the usual slides and jumps are clean and all anchors are in good condition with both deviations in place. Car-to-car time of 3.5 hours for the upper and lower canyon.

Comment: Loved this narrow, intense little canyon! One team member was concerned about the look of the hydraulics and escaped to the road about halfway down. But 2 of us completed it, and the hydraulics we encountered were only mildly pushy. Close study of great beta on this site helped us handle everything just fine. AMAZING place!

Comment: Brought some new friends to meet the troll. Pleasantly surprised there was decent flow today. Water felt particularly cold today. Hydraulic in S6/R7 pool was a touch grabby. Boil/keeper at R10 was still gnarly. The other major hydraulics in the canyon were benign. Appreciate the new webbing on R2 & R8 but kinda miss that janky old bolt.

Comment: Beautiful canyon with a fun team, the first time through for several of us. We made improvements to a few anchors, including:

    - R2, moved anchor higher to make it easier to get on rappel - R8,
