Comments: A cold spell plus the driest January in 40 years has Hager running with surprisingly (and delightfully!) reasonable flow. Beautiful, fluffy snow blanketed the trees, logs and banks but we found only a little ice in the canyon. It was VERY cold! This would not be a good choice for anyone newer to winter canyoning. All the usual slides and jumps are clean and all anchors are in good condition with both deviations in place. Car-to-car time of 3.5 hours for the upper and lower canyon.

Comment: Loved this narrow, intense little canyon! One team member was concerned about the look of the hydraulics and escaped to the road about halfway down. But 2 of us completed it, and the hydraulics we encountered were only mildly pushy. Close study of great beta on this site helped us handle everything just fine. AMAZING place!

Comment: Brought some new friends to meet the troll. Pleasantly surprised there was decent flow today. Water felt particularly cold today. Hydraulic in S6/R7 pool was a touch grabby. Boil/keeper at R10 was still gnarly. The other major hydraulics in the canyon were benign. Appreciate the new webbing on R2 & R8 but kinda miss that janky old bolt.

Comment: Beautiful canyon with a fun team, the first time through for several of us. We made improvements to a few anchors, including:

    - R2, moved anchor higher to make it easier to get on rappel - R8,

Comment: Replaced webbing/link on R1. Tightened bolt R7. Removed R8 single bolt, this bolt has been 1/2 way in/leveraging for the last 2 season. Webbing/link added DCL for more logical rap.

Comment: Super fun day in Hager. First time for all 3 of us. Did a couple slides an extra time, and took our time examining each problem. Nothing too difficult, but the hydraulics sent us spinning a few times. Not as cold as expected. We exited up the original non-shuttle route.

Comment: Full run from a little above S1 through R14. Flow was great. Anchors in good shape, both redirects present on R12, jumps and slides currently clean.

Comment: A great day in the upper+middle section. High flow added frequent spice, but in a strong & experienced group it was very much enjoyed.

I've improved the description of the R1 slide, and dialed-down the recent warning about it. Sliding R1 has been rarely done over rapping from the tree. The last report caused a bit of confusion as to which slide was blocked (people were worried it was the iconic entrance slide). Hopefully it makes sense to everyone now.

All other slides and jumps go, albeit with extra precautions regarding whitewater hazards.

The group were dressed for cold conditions, but found it to be surprisingly mild compared to Tule the day before.

Exited after S10 as planned, to avoid the slower & colder lower section.

Comment: Flow was high but still a lot of fun in the upper section. It was a little warmer than expected in 5/4 wetsuits. A large cedar fell from above the anchor onto the R1 ledge and into the pothole. Unfortunately that tree is not going anywhere anytime soon. Added a note to beta. Quite a bit of debris in the outlet and above R2 as well. Next group in should bring a saw and continue the cleanup we started around the anchor. Exited at S8 due not having a big enough team to set safety. Walked down canyon right to R10 anchor. Getting to R10 anchor could need protection from being swept into keeper hydraulic. Looking down stream into the dancefloor it was rowdy but we would have continued with a bigger team.

Comment: Fun trip to see the troll. Anchors in good shape. Only issue was the smell and guts of a rotting deer carcass at the bottom of R14 - with guts scattered all the way to R15.

Comment: Low-Moderate flow. I removed a handline that was left between S2 and R1. It is behind a tree right at the entrance trail of the canyon (very easy to find). It is unacceptable to leave fixed equipment like this, one can go back after a run with ease and remove. Also - R12 has 2 redirects now. This adds minimal protection and should be removed, IMO.

Comment: Managed to get a run in behind the Rondy groups without seeing anyone. Just as fun as always but a bit on the cold side with a 3/4 wetsuit. There appears to now be two redirects about 10 feet apart on R12 DCL since the last time I ran this canyon, maybe not totally necessary but makes the rappel very easy with both. We dropped in above the beta drop in point and it has a few fun small slides. All bolts are good though and everything goes currently.
