Comments: OK, I'm back. Went up Henninger trail to the sneak path (very overgrown) and found where I could drop back into the canyon (see picture). Ghosted the next rappel off a sturdy bush (DCR). This rappel might be down climbable depending on your abilities. I didn't find an anchor here. The next two rappels had anchors w/ tan webbing (DCR) left by Willie. There are some nice down climbs in between the rappels. Fixed a hand line for extra security. Do what works for you.

This canyon could be nice but is very overgrown. I trimmed back some of the vegetation and yucca that were in the path. Need to convince eshi-1 to bring a gardening party to this one. Overall, it's a welcome alternative to Coyote Canyon.

Comment: First time in Henninger. It has the potential to be a very nice canyon with lots of spicy downclimbs but is very overgrown at the moment. Lots of tall grass and lush vegetation makes navigating the canyon a bit more challenging. Did some gardening but didn't make much of a difference. When I hit the thicket of spiky bushes, I went DCL and looked for a way back into the canyon. It wasn't obvious to me with everything overgrown so I keep following the animal path and ended back up at the sneak entrance. Decided to call it a day and come back to finish at a different time. The longer rappels had webbing and anchors from Willie's run. Approach from Pinecrest took 1:15 minutes.

Comment: Another Super Bowl Sunday Front Range run. 1:15 approach. Sparse brush on the canyon floor thanks to Willie's gardening. There were a few standard front range rappels and some interesting downclimbs as advertised. Running this canyon is a cool way to internalize that even in highly trafficked areas with which we're very familiar, nature still has more layers to uncover.
