Comments: Stunning canyon that runs between granite domes with lots of interesting features. A new favorite in California. Water flows in from the bottom of the dam and is significantly colder than some of the other creeks in the area, but you'll be having too much fun to notice. The stemming and downclimbs are a blast. Views are unbeatable from start to finish. R3 gave us no issues and R4 drop and swim was also very manageable, but the keeper eddy that is 2 pools down from R4 in the narrow corridor that follows had a strong pull to it. Our team managed to stem out to a small ledge LDC and jump far enough past it to avoid getting caught in the recirculator. Jumped back into it for fun and it's tough to swim out of. It doesn't look like much from above but take this section seriously.
R7 is particularly stunning, with water flowing over and around an enormous and egg shaped boulder. Could see this one being hazardous in higher flow with currents where the LDC tree rappel drops you pushing you back toward the boulder- but easy to manage in the current flow. Could also see potential issues with rope pull here, but there is a ramp even further LDC and this rap could be bypassed or the rope could be retrieved pretty easily.
Lastly - we ended up parking the exit shuttle at 38.51298, -120.26331. The dirt road past this point is impassible, and has clearly not been maintained for quite some time. Trees etc. growing where you can tell a dirt road once existed. Not a bad exit even with a bit of extra walking.

Comment: This was a great spicy canyon done in moderate flow. Even though it was late season, there were some minor hydraulics and a keeper Eddy after R7. The crux rap R4 is pretty pushy. One of the blots on R4 is blown, it is only a single blot now. It is also advisable to stem out and away at the bottom of R3 and not get caught under the waterfall as there is a pothole which is hard to get out of. Overall, it was a lovely and spicy day.

Comment: Flow was appx 5cfs. Crack rap was pushy at edge, but not rip you off the rope pushy and no one had any problems.
Several short slides are possible at the beginning and the end (but at the end some have rocks partially submerged, but the drops are very short) The shuttle is blocked about .75 road miles from the bottom parking. Looks like this hasn't been drivable, at least to the bottom, for quite some time.

Comment: With the flow that we had, the flows were pretty mellow until we got to the crux of the canyon. The water force is surprisingly much stronger at the crux and afterwards (keeper eddy) so take caution in that section! Water was cold and wished I wore more than my 4/3 + windbreaker. For the exit, we took the "shortcut" route which is not recommended. Follow the original exit route to get back to the car if no shuttle was setup. Better yet, set up a shuttle. It took 2.5 hours using the shortcut exit hike.

Comment: Descended the first few obstacles and retreated before the down climb prior to the pyramid rock.
Escaped by climbing up the face and gulley on canyon right.
