Comments: Happy mothers day run! Took my mom on Miyagi for her first canyon ever and it was a great choice. Reconfigured some a chorus and cleaned up some extra webbing. Fun and straightforward, great introduction to sedona canyoneering.

Comment: Easy fun canyon - combined it with Bobcat to make a full day.

Some trees have fallen into the wash making it a tad more interesting. Someone came through and cut a bunch of branches on one of the fallen trees to make it easier to navigate.

Anchors were in decent shape. Some shallow pools easily gotten around.

Comment: Quick, easy, fun.

My wife is recovering from a broken ankle and Miyagi was the perfect route to get her back on rope.

Reset r1.r2. And r3. With black webbing.

Comment: Anchors looked good. Downclimbed R3. Good shaded sections and short which makes a good option in the heat.

Comment: Very good route to take beginners on! With the short approach, easy start rappels, and fun down climbing, this canyon has everything that a beginner needs to experience. I took my 10 year old nephew and my buddy brought his 12 year old son. They both crushed it! We also had another adult friend who has experience with rappelling but has never done a canyon route. We took our time and made sure to teach the kids as much as we could. This route could easily be done in 2 hours if you have a small party and are moving quickly. I am happy to say, the kids are addicted and will continue to join us on future adventures! All anchors were solid and webbing was in excellent condition.

Comment: Quick run. Unique little slot sections and mini canyon.

A 100' rope is all we needed. Anything over 50' is a downclimb at the end.

Anchors looked good.

Comment: Nice beginning canyon with some fun moves and views.. Rap 3 is more like 70 ft to ground if avoiding the small down climb. Not sure if the anchor has be changed but a 120 ft rope being descended by double-rope only got to the shelf.

Comment: Just the ticket for my near-70 y/o mom to try canyoneering! Slung a LDC tree at what I'll call R0, to give her a very easy first drop and avoid a prickly downclimb above R1. Existing webbing was all in great shape. Raps are a little short to be much fun to experienced canyoneers, but it's good beginner stuff, and the minimal trail time makes it even easier. Thanks (again!) to all you who have really opened up (and shared) the canyon options in Sedona!

Comment: Light rains and low flow through the canyon. Anchors in good condition. Fun, easy downclimbs. The drainage is cleaning up nicely. Good payoff for minimal time and effort.

Comment: Nice hidden little gem!

Shortened the approach by following a faint social trail and traversing to r1.

cool cave along the way.

16 mins to r1.

r1. big flake rdc! caution!! cleared loose rock.

r2. loose rock toward bottom.

r3. downclimb immediate rdc. fun. difficult on wet terrain.

unique cooridoor

r4. bolted anchor looked good.

exit cut high left to avoid trenches.

After a big monsoon yesterday there was a good amount of loose rock to be cleared toward the top.

Downclimb on r3 onto slab from anchor RDC was good. slab was still a bit moist. I'de imagine this could be done easily with a buddy assist from the slab in dry conditions.

This is a good route for training as it provides beginner to advanced downclimbs, as well as natural and bolted anchors.

Overall the condition of this route is good but could use more loose rock management in the future

Comment: Nice short little canyon starting at the first bench of Bear Mountain. Quality was better than expected and not to mention the approach took a whopping 20 minutes. Pleasant breeze today made the afternoon heat more *bearable*. All anchors are solid and webbing is in good condition. Once the canyon opens up at the exit, I didn't notice any well-defined social trails and basically just b-lined it to the TH. Would definitely recommend this one to beginners wanting to get their feet wet (metaphorically anyways) or anyone looking for a decent, short outing in the area.
