Comments: The canyon is pretty, and the approach is relatively short for the area. It was so slippery that we bypassed R3 and R4. A good early season option for the area, if it wasn't so slick I'de give it another star.

Comment: Porcupine Creek is fun adventure for rugged canyoneers. I probed the day before to see how

the canyon handled the usual 12:00 - 12:30 rain. I also took that day to get acclimated to the altitude. Everything looked good. The next day I left at 6:00 AM early start to get through the canyon before the rain starts. I was amazed of the description of the trail approach in this beta. It was spot on with the approach. When I descended the canyon, all the webbing on the anchors that were found, was completely rotten and chewed up from the water flow. You can tell that this canyon is rarely descended. The last trip report on ropewiki was in 2014. With the anchor conditions, I believe it. That really made this canyon special and challenging. Too be in a place that people rarely get to visit is remarkable. Rappel 2 took up a lot of time replacing the pinch point. I felt like I was digging for gold to get the webbing out. Because I was solo, I used retrievables where there was no evidence of the anchors. I removed and replaced all webbing on all the anchors that I found. The lower section is clogged with logs. This provided challenges. Because of the log and bush jams at the end of the canyon, it is best to head up CDL with consideration for the plants and impact on the area. There is a rock face that you will down climb to the area to change out your wet suit with the amazing view of a large waterfall. I had so much fun in this canyon. The beauty and solitude was amazing. Thanks for putting in this route!. Here is a trip report that includes footage of the probe and descent:

Comment: Straightforward descent. Had to rig a retrievable handline to cross from Canyon Right to Canyon Left over the flow in one place, but other than slipperiness, the water level wasn't a concern.
