Comments: Perfect conditions right now, with warm air and clear, flowing, but not too pushy water. Cold enough to make my skinny friend shiver by halfway through the slot - very thin/easily chilled people will be happier with a little neoprene on, but we and everyone we saw were in shorts/tees. Anchor webbing was fuzzy, not quite frayed. Someone fixed a 10mm real (not Home Depot) rope at the rap. We pulled it all up, found it in good shape, and used it. Looked like actual technical rope was also set for the handline to jumpoff. Found an iphone at the bottom of the big pool and was happily able to return it to its owner. Gonna start calling it Davy Jones' Locker. I've found enough stuff down there over the years to encourage everyone to zip up and tie down everything before you jump or rap - Apple Watches love to snap free and sink.

Comment: Water was balmy; no wetsuits or wetsocks necessary; not even wanted by most of the group.

There is one down-climb that a canyoneer will easily solve but is heady to the uninitiated.

One person got their foot and knee wedged in the crack of the waterfall. Much better to stem over the water. Recommend using the jump station to top belay beginners because the waterflow makes extraction tricky. Watched someone outside of our party slip on the traverse onto their butt unharnessed. It is slick when wet.

Replaced webbing at the waterfall and cleaned out accumulated tat. There are three solid bolts at that station, one glue-in and two expansions. The hangers of the expansion bolts are bent out of shape and should be replaced. It is unfortunate that webbing has to be used.

After crossing the traverse line, there is a ~15' section of rope to reach the jump point. It is core shot and should be replaced.

Maybe 15 cars were there today.

water was still clear.

Comment: The water level is still good enough to make the slides possible and the jumps are in good shape. The webbing at the rappel is about in need of replacing. The water temp was great. I wore a 2 mil top and the rest of the group just ran in shorts and tees. Had a bit of a mishap and sacrificed a shoe to the canyon gods in exchange for returning my foot to me. Got lucky.

Comment: The anchors at the jump location are getting a bit worn and starting to spin. The traverse line/rope looks like it's also in need of replacing.

Comment: There was clear water in the pools but quite low flow at the rappel. Nearly had enough bottles by the end of the route to build a raft. We removed a couple sections of tattered handling and cleaned most of the mess at the bolts.

Comment: Great flow, great company, great time. Lots of 4 inch spiders and wasps. Drove a sedan to the trailhead from both directions. Water crossing from the west was passable and maybe a foot deep. Crossing from the east was a wet concrete slab. Water was a great temperature, never needed wool socks, neoprene socks, or wetsuit gloves, though others there reported the water being really cold. Measured 58.2°F. Drank 1L of water.

Comment: Fun and very beautiful little canyon. Even with only 1 rap IT IS WORTH CHECKING OUT! Lots of swimmers throughout. High, sculpted, picturesque slot canyon walls! The only rap is near the end and goes into a very large deep pool that is fun to float and hangout in. We brought some beers and chilled here! Definitely a gem! Approach and exit took about 1hour each way and is easy but very boring down an obvious hiking trail. There is even a sign in the creek telling you where to exit!

Comment: Water temperature was very comfortable. Had a full wetsuit but could definitely have went without it. Fixed lines in place at the jump. Many large wolf spiders throughout the canyon and a rattlesnake along the exit trail. Time is car-to-car for the Jug only. We combined with Phog which we ran earlier in the day.

Comment: Took a smaller group May 6, the bigger one May 18. Water low and getting slimy, especially by the 18th. I wouldn’t go any more this year until a decent rain clears it out. Beware: between our two trips, some oxygen thief defecated right next to the waterfall anchor, fouling the usual awesomeness of the waterfall rappel. Another reason to let the slot have a flash flood before you go.

Comment: Terrific little canyon. Flow and company were great. There was much enthusiasm and jumping into pools. Doesn't have to be super technical to be fun. Access is very straightforward... even with a sign indicating the exit.

Comment: The road coming in had about 8" of water across 100 yards of a wash. We crossed it in a vehicle with medium clearance.

We brought mountain bikes and biked in for the first two miles of the trail. Definitely recommend it!

Water was nice a cold and clear, and it made for a great day!

Comment: Water was not flowing and the algae had bloomed in 50% of pools. Swimming was still required but not especially enjoyable. Somebody had left a bright green rope tied to the rap station; the rope was a boating rope, specifically for towing people on tubes... it was sun faded and precariously hitched. I removed the rope and packed it out. Whoever set it up was fortunate their improvised knot didn’t pull.
