Comments: Delightful little canyon, great for Sunday before you head home. The downclimbs were fun, the approach was nice and calm. I was left wanting more, what a luxury. We replaced what we felt needed replacing and left the place better than we found it.

Comment: For the basic version of Sayarim, if anything feels really sketchy, you're off-route and maybe not in the right canyon. For the scree slope, stay towards the left (more solid), and it will put you directly into a wash that you can easily follow to the saddle that starts this canyon.

Comment: Thanks to the group that replaced the webbing, all anchors were nice. It is a short canyon with pleasant approach. We opt for the alt route during approach instead of staying in the wash because it looked more interesting. We liked it as it had lots of colorful flat rock pieces. 2 rappels had boulder anchor and 2 had cairn, which are nice for beginners to practice soft start rappels safely.

Comment: I don't understand the group who ran it a few weeks ago. We had to replace several very crispy pieces of very old webbing, at least from last year. So Im not sure why a group on the 12th (2 weeks ago) says everything is new. There was one piece of older webbing in a shady section we left, but we replaced pretty much everything else.

Comment: All anchors fresh, everything went smoothly. The scree slope is very short and chill.

Comment: Completed the trip with the “Blue Canyon” side trek as well. Gorgeous approach and a cute little side canyon exploration. When approaching Gower Gulch it’s important to hop up to the tourist trail sooner rather than later to avoid climbing up to the trail at a dry fall at the mouth of the canyon. Definitely used the gpx track to find the right drainages, particularly when leaving Gower Gulch and then again ten minutes after the scree slope when turning into a side drainage to head up to the saddle (there was a cairn in the main drainage at this point and a tiny one in the side drainage, attached picture here). All anchors were in good condition. Definitely a cute canyon to descend.

Comment: A nice easy canyon for a chill day. Approach is straightforward if you follow the track. The only difficulty we encountered was heading too far up and to the right at the scree slope climb, requiring us to traverse left to the easier side with some exposure risk. The canyon itself is straightforward and apt for beginners. R4 is a simple downclimb. We did have to fix several of the anchors, including addressing some chafing in otherwide fresh webbing, moving another anchor to a different location (a rock closer to the drop), and building a cairn anchor to replace another rock anchor that was very far from the drop. Of note - the beta provided previously for rappel lengths was basically the height of the rappel and not the actual rope length from the anchor; I've corrected this.

Comment: Nice short canyon. Beautiful colorful approach. We replaced all the webbing and rebuilt some anchors. Good option for a canyon on your last day before drive back.

Comment: Sayarim is a nice short canyon with an easy approach. We stayed in Gower Canyon until the turnoff (not exactly like the map), and then followed the track around with only the short section of small talus plates (scree mentioned in the beta) to climb up 50 feet then back into an easy walking gully to the saddle. The canyon itself has various downclimbs and few short rappels. It's a good canyon for beginners!
