Trip report URL:

Comments: Group of 2 advanced canyoneers. The anchors on both rappels are in good shape. A few spots with water that can be avoided. Nothing more than ankle deep howerver.

The second, and longest rappel has an overbuilt boulder/cairn combination. There are two separate slings coming off it that extend about 25-30 feet to the edge, but join together before reaching that far. Someone had shortened the anchor by tying an overhand on a bight. We removed this bight so the anchor now extends over the edge for a clean pull. This does make it a hard start, which we both found to be fine for our skill level. It would be recommended to use a dynamic courtesy or to rebuild the anchor as a proper courtesy anchor.

Comment: 2 really nice big rappels that is worth doing if in the area. (We just did Blarney East/West) Pretty looking out from the top of the canyon. After the 2nd rappel was practically an easy hike back out with a bit of easy downclimbing. Beginner friendly. Good first day canyon to get ready for the epic stuff North Wash has to offer!

Comment: Our group was in front of a larger group. We moved pretty fast and had no issues with the 3 feet of snow in the canyon.

Comment: Super fun romp a second time through the canyon. Less snow, and a lot easier to down climb without the ice.

Comment: We were part of a smaller group that got out in front, people in the back struggled more when the snow compacted and the walls had more ice making downclwimbs harder.
