Comments: Headed up to do Feral Ass, but decided to drop into Sentinel halfway up. According to GPS waypoints from Scott that meant we just missed two rappels but we only did 7 of the remaining 11. The start of the ascent was pretty steep and caused some challenges among our party but not an irregular approach for Death Valley.

Comment: Set out to do nearby Feral Ass Canyon, but decided to drop into Sentinel instead after hiking up. Approach hike has the usual DV scree and exposure.
We lapped raps 3-7 after realizing at rap 8 we'd lost some gear. FWIW there is a viable and easy exit from above rap 8 right out to the approach ridge.

Comment: Nice canyon. Could cut off ~1/2 the approach by skipping the top 50' and 100' rappels, but they're some of the better rappels in the canyon. There's good camping about a mile before the canyon off surprise canyon road.
