Assigning a canyon to a region[edit]

Identifying the appropriate region[edit]

First, determine the appropriate region for the canyon. If you are not sure try the 'Find nearby canyons' or use some Reverse Geocode service. A list of existing regions may be found below, or you can create a new region.

Updating the canyon[edit]

On the canyon's page, click Edit and located the Canyon meta data section -- it will start with

If you cannot find this section, add the tag [[Category:Canyons]] somewhere in the page, save, click the "Edit with form" tab, and add the data.

If you can find this section, look for a line starting with 

|Region=

If you can find that line, simply add the name of the appropriate region after the equals sign on that line. If you cannot find that line, add it yourself within the double braces of the Canyon meta data section.
